"The Ten Canoe-ments" A recreational canoe Completed entry form submitted with $30 entry fee Unless entered as a “Next Generation” team (parent/guardian & his/her child 12-17 years), all racers must be 18 years of age or older There must be two canoe members per canoe Only recreational equipment may be used.  All equipment must be approved by The Great Dock Canoe Race, Inc, Race Committee, disallowing any unfair advantage.  Equipment described as follows: a. Only recreational canoes and paddles will be accepted. Canoe specifications: maximum length 18’; minimum width 34” b. Each canoe must carry at least two (2) Coast Guard approved life jackets c. Two paddles only per canoe (straight shafts and single bladed) d. Designated uniform jersey and headgear supplied by The Great Dock Canoe Race, Inc. The sponsors reserve the right to disqualify any team or crew member attempting to use non-recreational canoe equipment, namely motorized life jackets, electric canoes or paddles etc. It is mandatory that all participants be proficient in basic swimming skills contestants may only win in one racing category No alcohol permitted in canoes Handicaps shall be awarded to the following racing teams: Male-Female (2 minutes) and Female-Female (4 minutes)
